Shooting Star

Shooting Star
Oil on linen/panel, 2010, 7x5"
This daily painting is a nocturne of a shooting star that I saw on my way to the studio last night. This view is from our back yard between the house and studio. The tree is a very old spruce that got hit by lightning about 15 years ago but is still doing fine and is home to a Red Tailed hawk. What is there about seeing a shooting star that makes us feel like kids again? And yes I made a wish.

What a wonderful talent you have. Detroit has so much artistic and literary talent I'm amazed many of them don't get more recognition.
