This daily painting is a detail of a Magnolia bloom. A request from Niels for a Spring painting. This wonderful tree is in our neighborhood and is from last nights walk. It will not look like this today as it was windy an very cold last night with heavy frost.

This is a shot of the moon from our back yard last night
daily painting is an early morning view of a group of group of trees on Belle Isle on a foggy morning. I really fell in love with the shapes and color of these vine covered trees in front of foggy and muted background.
This daily painting is the second of a new series called "scenes of Detroit" Vignettes of interesting buildings in Detroit. A weathered red building with a delightful graffiti tag, FAR on Riopelle St in the warehouse district near the river on Detroit's East side
This daily painting is the first of a new series called "scenes of Detroit" Vignettes of interesting buildings in Detroit I really was drawn to the stark primary colors of this building against the dark background and rich blue sky Click on image for larger view. #1543
This daily painting is a nocturne of a shooting star that I saw on my way to the studio last night. This view is from our back yard between the house and studio. The tree is a very old spruce that got hit by lightning about 15 years ago but is still doing fine and is home to a Red Tailed hawk. What is there about seeing a shooting star that makes us feel like kids again? And yes I made a wish. Click on image for larger view. #1542
Today's daily oil painting is a view of 261 Alfred St in the Brush Park area of Detroit. This house has been mothballed by the city to be restored at a later date. Click on image for larger view. #1540
