I have been experimenting with using a more limited plein air palette on the last few paintings. Mostly blue, red and yellow so the darks have been mixed. I have always used some mars black mixed with color before. Not sure where I will go with the limited color but I kind of like it. I hope to do some plein air painting this spring and summer.

Beautiful cool shade. Compels me to ask: Do you use tube black or mix all the darks?
