Today's  daily oil painting is an urban landscape view of Vinsetta Garage on Woodward Ave in Royal Oak. It was recently closed and is being converted into a restaurant.

I'm glad they're going to try to save that building by turning it into something else. But I can't imagine the challenges of turning an old mechanic's garage and gas station into an eatery! They may run up against some real problems with pernicious petrochemical residue.

Such a sense of place with this one Stephen. Your trademark Hopper style mood. Just love this one. Plus it could be UK, the north west coast where many seaside places are now more or less deserted.

I spent many hours sitting just on the other side of that front window. They were always good to me and my mom, and generally could fix any old rusted set of wheels that we managed to drive in (occasionally towed in).
