Maxs Theater II

Max's Theater II
Oil on linen/panel, 2011, 5x7"
Today's oil painting is an urban landscape of the sign for the abandoned and burned Max's Theater on Chene St in Detroit.
I have not been able to paint or post because we have not had power for the last four days. I am very happy to be up and running and back in the studio.

In the Garden

This wonderful Hummingbird was in our garden yesterday. We have never seen one like this before, does anyone knows who he/she is

Great pictures! But it's not a bird, it's a moth, probably this one - http://www.fcps.edu/islandcreekes/ecology/hummingbird_moth.htm

Hi, Stephen.

Sorry to hear you all lost power for four whole days. This year's weather has been really weird, hasn't it?

The visiting little critter you took pics of in your garden is a hummingbird moth. They both look and sound like hummingbirds, don't they? They're all over down here in Iowa right now and even more so in the autumn.

that little gem appears to be a clearwing moth aka hummingbird moth, genus hemaris. i don't know which exact species.

I think you have a fantastic photo of a hummingbird moth ... not a bird but an insect

Thank you all! He really had us fooled. No wonder we couldn't find him in the bird books. Be moved just like a hummingbird but was smaller. Learn something new every day.
