Today's oil painting is an urban landscape of a little gem of a building on the corner of Hurlbut St and Mack Ave in Detroit. I have painted this building once before from the Mack Ave side.

From the Mack avenue view you can see the awning and recognize that it is an old gas station. I’ll assume that it was a Continental Oil Company station. I like it when you see old gas stations that are restored sometimes as museums or private owners who just love gas memorabilia. You see a lot of old gas stations along the Lincoln Highway. Some restored, other used for some other purpose, and sadly some just wasting away.
