Ford Model T Plant
Oil on linen/panel, 2011, 5x7"
To a collector in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI
Today's oil painting is an urban landscape of Henry Ford's Model T Automobile Plant, in Highland Park. One of the most famous factories in the World. It was home of the moving assembly line. Designed by Albert Kahn and built in 1909. At one time it was producing 1,000 autos a day.

This is fascinating, "One of the most famous factories in the world". I had no idea it was even around still.

Is it too in disrepair or saved as a 'museum' (I hope).
That is an irreplaceable part of Detroit's and really the worlds history. Once gone we can never get it back.

Keep up the good work showing us all Detroit!

Thanks David, it is being used for storage but mostly empty and going downhill fast.
