The Green Roof
 Oil on linen/panel, 2011, 5x5"
SOLD
To a collector in Birmingham, MI
Today's oil painting is an urban landscape of an interesting building with a grey green roof and very tired and weathered walls. I really had fun painting the shapes and textures of this building

Nice painting of a nice house...interesting roof lines ... and wonderful work with the shadows.

Love all your paintings. I bought one a couple years ago. I think it's very distinctive that many of your buildings (with vertical lines) have a tendency to lean left. Gives them a little backward motion to my way of looking. Maybe I'm leaning right.

Thanks Russ, I really like your B & W Detroit photos. The "Detroit lean" is really from an astigmatism of my eyes. I try to put in vertical lines to guide me but they still lean. Interesting that you have noticed.
I linked your site from mine.
