Evening Nocturne
Oil on linen/panel, 2011 5x7"
To a collector in Farmington Hills, MI
Today's oil painting is an urban landscape nocturne of the view approaching the city of Detroit.
This view shows part of the large Russell Industrial complex. The RIC is a very large industrial center that has had a revival as an Art Mecca for local artists and galleries, along with small businesses.
I would also like to thank Katherine Tyrrell at Making a Mark for including Postcards from Detroit on her great Art Blog. Also a big thanks to my favorite collector in Des Moines, IA. for his high bid on the Belle Isle painting on the Keiko Tanabe Help Japan auction to raise money for the Japan Red Cross. They have raised over $19,000 so far.

These dark paintings are really nice Stephen. Not because they're dark but because of the quality of the light.

Hard to leave a solo comment when so many of your paintings are so impressive. Like Oxeye said, marvellous atmosphere and light Stephen.

Thanks for the recognition Stephen. But it was you who expended your time and talents to make it all possible. My hat's off to you.
