Lake Huron Cottage

Lake Huron Cottage
Oil on linen/panel, 2010, 7"x5"
SOLD
Today's daily painting is a landscape of sunlight and shadows on a cottage porch looking out on Lake Huron. This cottage is owned by a good friend. Janet and I spent many wonderful summer hours on this delightful porch.

In spite of a strong upright straight up the middle, you achieved a dynamically asymmetrical composition. Then there's the light streaking down the screens and setting off that brilliant red, making the sky and water more spacious - I think my sinuses just opened up!

Nice work!

You got the mood of the light in this beautiful, abstract composition. (It's nice to say "you got" and be grammatically correct!)
I don't know how you manage to turn out work like this in the middle of a big show, but congratulations.
