The color and brush work is impressively done. I can feel the
January cold in this one.
Very real.
In the 90’s we had friends living in Windsor and at the time they marveled that Detroit, for a dollar would sell anyone a significant abandoned building provided they would live in it for an extended length of time. I forget for how long.
They made frequent trips to Detroit to shop, buy art supplies, visit private galleries. I always liked an opportunity to see the Diego Rivera Mural at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
