Midtown Nocturne

Midtown Nocturne
to collector in New York, NY
oil on linen/panel, 2009, 7x5"
Today's daily painting is a nocturne of a midtown warehouse, this reminds me of the Tom Waits song,"What's he doing in there" Enjoy
This is the Pioneer Building, a warehouse converted into artists lofts, please check out their site.

You're officially one of my heros now. I'm a 55 year old architect who is just learning to paint. I'm awful, just awful. There are several blogs I view daily to study technique. Yours is one several because I like your building paintings. I print them at a larger scale to observe the color mixes and brush strokes. Now, you're mentioning Tom Waits. That puts you into a special group.

Amazing, to me, that you can produce these little jewels daily. Thanks for sharing. I hope to purchase some of your work, if and when I have some extra cash. This has been a tough year to practice architecture. I'm earning less this year than I did in 1986.

I really like this one. I love buildings and yet I am so intimidated to paint them so I mostly stick to painting people. I still enjoy following your work and some pieces are just so perfect to me that I have to comment yet again!
