This painting has such impact Stephen. It sounds a bit poetic to say but isn't it wonderful how such beauty can be created out of decline and abandon? Your very limited/under stated palette works sublimely here.
I am thrilled to look at this and to see so how to captured an era gone and still flowing with brevity and elegance.
The light arc at the bottom expresses hope, possibly action.
It reminds me of qualities Hopper captured with light and fading facades - this comparison is not meant in any way to diminish your talent or this work.
Stephen, Your paintings are always beautiful. I look forward to them every day. But this one....really speaks to my inner being. I am without words to describe the emotion I felt when I opened this one. Susan
