DETROIT STORIES... ORIGINAL SMALL OIL PAINTINGS
OF DETROIT BY STEPHEN MAGSIG AND SMALL OIL PAINTINGS BY JANET HAMRICK
Totally amazed how much information you can put into one small space. Wonderful job.
This is now one of my favorites. It's very dark, the blue sky makes it ever darker and sadder. Something about this one seems a bit more emotionally charged than most of the others.
I agree with both earlier comments. I'm also drawn to it because I love the way brick lights up in the sun and, for some reason, I love how power lines break up the sky.In this one, I'm also really impressed with the way you suggested the shrubbery giving some dignity to, what I'm sure is, weedy raggedy volunteer growth.I can't believe no one's bid on this. "If I dood it, I get a whippin'"
Pat, thanks, not everyone sees how much we put into these. Ambera, your skies are always so strong, thanks.Bill, I have great empathy for these neglected buildings. It is always disappointing when some of your favorite and best don't get bids.
