This is a detail of one of the front window columns in the Michigan Central R.R. Depot, I really liked the soft winter light in this one. It was designed by the same architect who designed Grand Central Station in New York City. It is still a monumental and beautiful building, even in it's battered condition.

Sometimes I prefer a good battered building. I think it's a shame they're often torn down, a crumble here and there creates so much more atmosphere and character for the people who pass through these buildings. Beautiful painting.
