This building continues to inspire me.
In American Ruins (The Monacelli Press, 1999), Camilo José Vergara wrote, "I have photographed the former Michigan Central Railroad Station at least twice a year for eight years...The station, a huge, austere, neoclassical building erected in 1913 by Warren & Wetmore on the model of the Baths of Caracalla, is now derelict, isolated: a menacing presence."
