Detail, Michigan Central Depot, oil on linen panel, 7"x5"
This is a detail of the exterior of the Michigan Central Depot, designed by the same architect who designed Grand Central Station in New York City. A monumental building even in it's battered condition. I feel it's decline is a visual symbol of Detroit's automotive triumph over public transportation. I will be doing more paintings of this magnificence building.
